COMBAT REACTION FACING STRESS AND TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCES*

The authorÊ describes his own experiences at the battlefield during the course of five wars in Israel. From this viewpoint, he develops some personal conceptualizations, such as virtual therapeutic structuring, interventions on demand, participative interventions, experience of nonexperience, traumatogenic experiences, stressogenic experiences, structural leadership and functional leadership.

This paper describes the indications and counterindications suggested by Freud when the psychoanalytic method is to be implemented and emphasizes his concern about the extent of his method to approach other pathologies. There is a description of the modifications to the classic technique to deal with severe pathologies, patients with low economic and/or libidinal resources as well as the subsequent doubts, fears and prejudices experienced by many professionals followed by the difficulty to apply these resources in their daily practice.

THINKING OF AUTISM

In this paper the theoretical outline on the research and dynamics of child autism is traced following mainly Bruno BettelheimÕs and Margaret MahlerÕs postulations. These authors have successfully investigated in the field of infantile psychoses, approaching the pathology from different theoretical models, which are stated in their basic conceptualization. In the first part of the paper, the historical evolution of the clinical concepts on infantile psychoses is shown following a course which enables to get to the more current conception of autism, its definition and clinical presentation. In the second part, the genetic and dynamic aspects of autism are taken into account and some theoretical considerations related to that pathology are stated by the author.

This paper emerges from my clinical experience, which confirms the theoretical material which for several years I advocated and still continue doing so. The population of patients is included within the area of eating disorders. My clinical experience is based on dealing with this kind of pathologies in a specialized private clinic, at the hospital and on private practice. The clinical features related to these pathologies are described as well as the various possible approaches, emphasizing the value of group technique.

THE TERAPIA ATTENDED WITH ANIMALS AND THE QUALITY OF THE SUBJECTS

The purpose of this paper is to examine the results of the research about the effects of animal assisted therapy on the quality of life of certain patients. Effects have been studied in different populations: elderly people, convicts with psychiatric problems or drug dependence and children with psychic or mental dissabilities. The results of the research shows that interacting with animals has a positive influence on the quality of life of the three groups mentioned above.
