THE MASKS OF THE END OF THE ANALYSIS

Dr. Leonor M. Valenti de Greif - Buenos Aires - Argentina

The objective of the present paper is to highlight what I have decided to define as "the masks of the end of the analysis", which correspond more to interruptions or "impasses" occurring in the course of many analytical processes rather than to a legitimate ending. As from Ferenczi's observations, it cannot be denied that the analytical practice entails the active participation of the analyst's psychic processes and his subjectivity in the direction of the cure. Thus, when going over some of Ferenczi's contributions, it is relevant to be aware of current and related subjects, such as: 1) The value of countertransference both as resistance and instrument, 2) The relationship between empathy and countertransference control, 3) The technical modifications and their effect upon the process, 4) The end of the analysis - between the ideal and the possible cure. Going through the unconscious fantasy moves the subject on his identificatory narcissistic and oedipal foundations. It is then that fiction gives way to the truth. When this point of the analysis is reached, the mask of "being for the other" falls down and the subject becomes himself.

Key words: cure - psychoanalysis - transference - countertransference - end of analysis - trauma - character

REFLECTIONS ON THE DISCONTENT AT THE CLINICAL PRACTICE

Lic. Mary Logiovine - Buenos Aires - Argentina

This paper is about the discontent at the clinical practice taking into account converging aspects - the patient's demand and the analyst's place. Special importance is given to the incidence of subject-transcending determinants which affect both the analyst and the patient and belong to the sociocultural context and the power policy of a certain time. The scientific, technological and cultural paradigms which would have incidence in the subjectivity construction are analized. New times of life and death: in-vitro fertilization, transplants, genetic manipulation. The immediacy and zapping of both information and image constitute an attack to the skill of thinking. Hopes are placed on a critical, metapsychological and psychopathological review to account for each case in situ. It is emphasized that all this requires the ethical questioning and commitment of the analyst at his practice.

Key words: discontent - clinical practice - subjective construction - demand - analyst's position - sociocultural context - present practice - ethics

BRIEF PSYCHOANALYTICAL REFLECTIONS AROUND THE SUBJETIVIDAD POSTMODERN

Gibrán Larrauri Olguín - Distrito Federal , México

The post-modernity is the period where the cult of science dominates, in this way, the truth of the subject is passed over and is substituted by the knowledge about the object. This phenomenon provokes that the subjectivity becomes the target of that it could be call "pervert annulment". This fact originates that the violence reproduces itself because the subjects break the social threads that keep them alive. Psychoanalysis proposes itself as the device that allows the subject realize his own ex-sistence, in this manner, the bases to a desire not related with the master that gives orders to work for the consumption, the efficiency and the individualism, could be built.

Key words: post-modernity- subjectivity- science- violence- desire- psychoanalysis.
